Just a couple of miles away is the picturesque New Forest town of Lymington (cobblestone streets, bustling marinas and river including ferry link to the Isle of Wight). Lymington has an all day Saturday market, busy high street shops, coastal walks and plenty of sports facilities. The village of Sway has its own shop/PO and a public house that has an excellent reputation for food. From here you can enjoy peaceful woodland walks into open farm land and on out to the New Forest and explore south to the beach (2 miles) and the fishing villages of Milford 0n Sea and Keyhaven. Newly built in 2006, the new forest holiday cottage is quality throughout and provides relaxing and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests.
The holiday cottage has its own adjacent deck patio with furniture for you to enjoy meals al fresco listening to the birds. The patio overlooks our garden which abounds with dahlias of all kinds throughout the summer. There is private, off road car parking. Surrounding area Hordle is a small village about 2 miles inland from Milford on Sea. It forms an ideal base for exploring the unique environment of the New Forest and the charming coastal towns and villages of this part of the South Coast of England. The bird life to be seen along the coastal walk from nearby Keyhaven is spectacular. Some of the attractions are; * Delightful coastal and New Forest walks * Historic Hurst Castle dating from Henry VIII's time * The Isle of Wight (ferries from nearby Lymington) * Glorious Exbury Gardens and its famous banks of Rhododendrons * The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu with the Abbey and Palace * The ancient sailing centre of Lymington - its old harbour and new marinas * The port city of Southampton with its cruise liners * The lively seaside town of Bournemouth * Poole Town, Quay and pottery * The National Trust's Brownsea Island nature reserve * Mountain biking and hacking along the many miles of New Forest tracks Just a short walk from the holiday cottage is the village Post Office and General Store. .Cottage is strictly non-smoking and is not suitable for pets.
